Not only does he look like the mini version of Nick Frost, but also he talks like him. The chase scene with the pickup truck and the tanks had me dying with laughter. When JoJo snapped his fingers and the music kicked in, goosebumps. What an inspired song choice. This is one of my all time favourite movies.

Ugh, this movie is ingeniously beAutiful. I agree with Roman, theres no genre for this. Its created another genre. I love what Taika did with Elsa, that he didnt make her a cliched ‘pitiable character. Hitler and the Nazis were simply genius, and the use of Rebel Wilson, Who is usually used as a tropey cast away character, really turned it around with her, such a refreshing view of her style of comedy! Also. didnt think I would say this but Sam Rockwell is my favourite Nazi lol. People expecting a hard-hitting takedown of the Third Reich are looking in the wrong place. This is meant to be an amusing satire poking fun at the ridiculous nature of Nazi Germany while also providing some heartfelt and meaningful messages. Jojo Rabbit gets serious when it needs to, but the war is seen through the eyes of a 10 year old, thus it views the war with that sentiment. In addition to writing and directing, Taika Watiti's boldest move with this film is playing an imaginary Adolf Hitler, with hilarious results. I appreciate that Jojo Rabbit is not afraid to push the envelope and that in spite of its subject matter, it will leave you feeling hopeful and with a smile on your face.

Wow. What a humanizing and humbling film. It is unfortunate but understable why some reviewers will rate it poorly. I had the privilege of growing up around families affected by the Holocaust but no parent ever told us how bad things were. It was not till we were much older that I learned my friends parents couldnt talk about the Holocaust without sheer rage, horror and sorrow. For those reviewers that believe that the Holocaust and Nazi Germany should be depicted with abject seriousness you are justified but please hear me out. If this film had been released when I was a kid, maybe I would have understood earlier something about those things too horrible for parents to say. It has always been important to tell younger generations about the worst thing we have ever have done as a species, and I believe this film honors that tradition.
